1.IFFI nominated nine films for ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal
International Film Festival of India (IFFI) has nominated 9 films for this year’s International Council for Film, Television and Audiovisual Communication ( ICFT ) UNESCO Gandhi Medal . Five of the nine films are from India.
Nominated Indian films for the award include Kshitij – A Horizon (Marathi), Manusangada (Tamil), Poorna (Hindi), Railway Children (Kannada) and Take-Off (Malayalam). Amok (Poland), Kibula (Germany-France-Jarjian, co-productions), The Lost Panting (Taiwan) and Women of the Weeping River (US-UK co-production of foreign films) to nominate has been.
2.SBI launches YONO, an integrated app for financial services:
The country’s largest public sector bank State Bank of India has started a joint venture app named YONO (You Need Only One) which will provide all kinds of financial and lifestyle products. YONO will be able to meet the needs of 14 categories, namely, booking and renting cab, entertainment, dining experience, travel and stoppage, medical related requirements etc. to meet the needs of their lifestyle.
In order to provide customized offers and discounts, SBI has partnered with e-commerce playersincluding Amazon, Uber, Ola, Mintra, Jabong, Shopper’s Stop, Cox and Kings, Thomas Cook, Travel, Airbnb, Swegie and Byjus
3.The winter session of Parliament from December 15 to January 5
The winter session of the Parliament will be held from January 15 to 5 of next month . Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar has announced this after the meeting of Cabinet Committee of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
Mr. Kumar said that Parliament should not overlap the session and the dates of assembly elections, and in the past several times the time has been fixed for the session of the Parliament keeping in mind the assembly elections in the state.
5.RBI raises shareholder limit of ARCs
RBI has allowed conversion of Asset reconstruction companies (ARCs) through reorganization into conversion of over 26% of the loan in the institution.
In a notification, the central bank has informed that the limit on shareholding conversion will be as per the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) allowed for that particular area.
6.The Government will establish the Prime Minister’s Women’s Power Center in 115 districts
The Center has approved the establishment of ‘ Prime Minister Women Power Center’ in the 115 most backward districts of the country through a new scheme to reach rural women and facilitate skill development, employment, digital literacy, health and nutrition.
The government has approved 150 extra ‘one stop centers’ as well as seven other programs for the victims of child marriage ,expansion of Beti Padhaoscheme, as well as for those suffering from sexual violence, from 161 districts to 640 districts in the country, – are part of the National Women’s Empowerment Mission. Between 2017 and 2019, financial outlay will be Rs. 3636.85 crores.
7.HRD Ministry Launches Digital Signature Campaign on Constitution Day
Ministry of Human Resource Development has started a digital signature campaign on the Constitution Day to confirm the belief in the Indian Constitution and to create awareness on the basic duties contained in the Constitution.Giving a link in a tweet, Mr. Javdekar said that people can join the campaign by filling the online form.
