1.World Soil Day: 05 December
World Soil Day is celebrated on December 5th worldwide. It aims to deliver messages on the importance of soil quality for food security, health ecosystems and human wellbeing. The Theme for Soil Day 2017 is ‘Caring for the Planet starts from the Ground’. WSD is celebrated at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
2.India and Germany Sign Govt- to-Govt Umbrella Agreement
Under the Indo-German Development Cooperation, the Government of India signed an agreement between India and Germany with financial support in 2016 (II), allowing Euro 200 million for the economic contribution of the project to the Urban Mobility III and Euro 11 million permits for four projects.
Four projects under the agreements signed are as follows:
i. “Debt Agreement” for community-based sustainable forest management – Component Eye Manipur “for the project was signed for a Euro 15 million loan.
Objectives – Restore degraded forest areas, renewal of shifting cultivation areas, conservation of biodiversity and water resources.
ii. Debt Agreement for “Madhya Pradesh Urban Sanitation and Environmental Program” project for Euro 50 million dollars reduction interest loan and Euro 2.5 million grants.
Objective – to improve facilities for water supply, sanitation and sewage treatment planning.
iii. Loan agreement for Odisha – Phase II loan for the project “Loan Agreement” 2 million Grant 2 million Grant with loan agreement EUR 55 million EUR.
Objective – Improve Urban Infrastructure by connecting them with Government Priority.
iv. Debt Agreement with a loan agreement of 12 million euros for “green energy corridor – intra-state transmission system in Maharashtra”
Goal – to replace the transmission system to free the renewable energy.
3.The 3rd DRC-NITI Aayog Dialogue was held in China
The 3rd edition of the dialogue between NITI Aayog and China’s Development Research Council was organized by DRC-NITI Aayog Dialogue in Beijing. The meeting was chaired by vice chairman Nit Iogog, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, and Mr Li Wee, President (Minister) and DRC. The 4th NITI Aayog – DRC dialogue will be held in India in 2018. The discussions were held under the MOU between the NITI Aoyog and the Development Research Center (DRC), the State Council of China.
4.UPs Shamli District Included in NCR
Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh was included in the National Capital Region (NCR), enabling all the districts in NCR to 23.The NCR is funded by “attractive” interest rates from the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) for infrastructure development in cities. The decision to include Shamli in NCR was at the 37th meeting of NCRPB.
5.ADB Funds for Reliance Bangladesh Power Plant Project $ 580 Million
Reliance Bangladesh Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) approved the Board of Directors of Asian Development Bank (ADB) to raise loan financing and partial losses of $ 583 million to develop power projects.For ADB’s financing package, there are loans and partial guarantee for $ 1 billion for power generation facilities, as well as for the LNG terminal and power project.
6.UAE, UK, US and French armies will hold joint exercises in Abu Dhabi
UAE armed forces with UK, US and French troops participate in joint exercises in Abu Dhabi. The drill code is referred to as “Flag4”.For two weeks, joint exercise, increasing combat skills, working to gain more expertise and unite military issues among participating parties.
7.Venezuela launched a new virtual currency name in Petro
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced a new virtual currency design titled ‘Petro’ to reduce the country’s financial crisis.Venezuela supports oil, gas, gold and diamond wealth Petro.

8.Amitabh Bachchan’s book on Indian cinema
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan started a book based on Indian cinema in Mumbai’s Shobaz Capital. This book, ‘Bollywood: The Films! Songs! The Stars! ‘Is a coffee table book which provides historical insights, lesser known facts and back-scenes of the most distinctive images made in Indian film history.The book is co-written by S.M.M. Asuza, Karan Bali, Rajesh Devaraj and Thanul Thakur, a book in the town’s tallest town, was published by the British multinational publishing house Dorling Kindersley (DK).
